On Friday, December 20th, 2024, the Forte-Citnalta Joint Venture celebrated the substantial completion of the 68th Street – Hunter College Station. The long-serving hub for over 100 years, is now proudly a fully ADA-compliant facility. This upgrade guarantees that all passengers, including those with disabilities, can easily navigate the station. The extensive design-build project includes several key improvements. The addition of three new elevators is central to making the station ADA accessible, offering smooth transitions from street level to the platforms. Two new entrances, one mid-block at the Imperial House Building and another at the southwest corner of 69th Street—further enhance accessibility and convenience. Reconfigured stairwells improve the station's flow and safety. The mezzanine has been expanded to create more space and streamline passenger movement. Additionally, major upgrades to the station's communications and electrical systems ensure smoother, more reliable operations. Congratulations to the members of FCJV on all of their hard work and this amazing accomplishment!
