On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, Citnalta-Scalamandre Joint Venture (CSJV) joined MTA C&D and local elected officials to celebrate the official opening of the new Copiague Station elevator, the first of ten elevators on the LIRR Design-Build ADA Improvements Package #1 project.
This station is the first of three Babylon Branch stations that will be made fully accessible in the next few weeks. Amityville and Lindenhurst are expected to join Copiague with accessibility upgrades before the end of June.
CSJV received Notice to Proceed on the Project in December 2022 which includes upgrades to Massapequa Park, Amityville, Copiague, Lindenhurst, Valley Stream, Laurelton, St. Albans, Locust Manor, and Auburndale Stations and is expected to be completed in Fall 2025.
